Case Study
Ascent
A modular shoe for alpine climbing that leverages biomimicry
Ascent is a modular alpine climbing shoe designed around interchangeable sole systems inspired by biomimicry. The idea was to reduce the need to carry multiple pairs of terrain-specific shoes while still adapting to changing conditions.
The project combined product design, usability, and storytelling. I especially contributed to the tactile packaging system so climbers could identify interchangeable parts quickly in low-visibility environments.
